In 2001, Brian Todd was anxious to improve the level of health services in Brighton. With the help of a few other like-minded people, the concept of a health centre was developed, and quickly took on a life of its own. Under Brian’s leadership, the former Creekside Banquet Hall was purchased in 2002, and through significant fundraising efforts, the Brighton Health Services Centre opened in 2004. Throughout this development, Brian Todd remained at the helm of the Brighton Health Services Centre’s Board of Directors, until his passing in November, 2011.
The recognition of Brian’s life-long devotion to community service lives on through the Brian Todd Memorial Community Fund, which serves as an incentive to all community organizations that aspire, as Brian did, to improve the quality of life for all Brightonians.
